How to read literary works?

A few days ago, I wrote the following article about the joy and significance of reading literature.

The important thing here is that understanding humans should not end up being an intellectual interest.

I want to have a deep and rich understanding of humanity – this desire becomes precious only when it is supported by the awareness of “how should I live my life” in the circumstances surrounding us as a person living in the present era.

Conversely, it is only through thinking about “how do I live my life” in modern conditions that our understanding of humanity can have a living meaning.

A good literary work is one that makes us think about these things.
